🤲 Afsos: how to comfort a grieving family 📅 TUESDAY 6TH OCTOBER ⏰ 9PM BST Live on YouTube Visiting a family for afsos (Condolences) after a death is a long-held tradition, and a Prophetic Sunnah. But even with good intentions, some of our cultural habits at these visits hurt a grieving family more than they help. In this session, Shaykh Amer and Umar Hussain go through the unhelpful things people say and do when they offer condolences. Some are obvious, some are easy to miss. They'll look at how to bring our customs back in line with proper Islamic adab. They'll cover: ❓ What to ask a grieving family, and what to leave unasked 🏠 How to avoid adding to the family's burden 💬 Why lines like "at least they lived a long life", or telling people not to cry, don't help ⏳ The adab of a short visit that respects how exhausted the family is ✍️ Got a question for Shaykh Amer and Umar? Send it in here before 6pm on the 6th of October) link.isyllabus.org/widget/form/m8lvpuKklzFm1dm4cl0r
